February Newsletter
French, Grade 3
Dear Parents,
In February, we will explore the theme about “My Favorite Heroes” where we will read, sing, discuss, write and make short presentations about people that are special to us, “our heroes”. The children will be invited and encouraged to participate actively in different oral activities related to the theme. It will be very interesting to develop this theme, to learn a little more about each child and to give them a chance to share with their classmates.
During this theme, we will also review and reinforce “adjectives” especially when we are describing people. Also, we are continuing to study the “masculin” and “féminin” form and to apply this concept in different written activities.
In reading, the stories in the French reader are: “ Un mystère pour Martin” p.30-31 and “Un homme extraordinaire” p.35. We will also read and sing the song “Les Superhéros”.
In Social Studies, we will continue to study our theme on Pioneers. The students really enjoy working on their projects in class. We are also continuing to apply new vocabulary in different oral and written activities and talk about how these people started to build and develop their own communities (work on the farm......services at the village).
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
