Dear Parents,
It is December already! Time goes by so quickly when we are having fun! This month, we will be talking about Christmas (Noël). Our unit will once again be enriched by songs, oral/ written activities, as well as games and stories.
Christmas songs are so much fun to sing and share with the ones we love and the students enjoy this this time so much. Therefore, I am sending you a copy of some of the Christmas songs we will be singing together throughout the month. Enjoy!.

Please encourage and support your son/daughter to read in his/her French reader (review alphabet, vowels, syllables),in a library book, or with other French materials on a consistent basis. Regular practice is necessary in order for your child to gain confidence and master the skills necessary to become an strong reader. Your child is always welcomed to exchange his/her little book when needed. I would ask you to return the Reading French duo-tang back to school every day. Merci!
Please be on the look out for a collection of your child's written work and projects (notebooks). I will send examples of these learning activities a couple of times each term. Thank you for taking the time to look at and discuss them with your child. The home/school support and communication is greatly appreciated.

In Social Studies, the Grade One students are just beginning to learn about communities with a specific focus on the people who help in the community. The boys and girls will be exposed to new vocabulary through a variety of oral and written tasks.
As we are approaching the festive season, I want to wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
