Dear Parents,
In November, we will continue to learn new vocabulary and to develop our Social Studies theme on “First Nations” (Autochtones) in Ontario. It is very exciting to see the interest of the children in discussing and learning about how these people lived during this time.

In reading, your child is encouraged to read in French on a regular basis. It is so important that the children develop the habit of bringing home their French reader (or a French library book) and read for a few minutes every day. I suggest that reading and reviewing the different texts in the black/reading duo-tang (stories, social studies information, sounds or key words lists) will help to reinforce and to develop your child’s reading skills.
Some texts suggestions for November:
Liste de mots avec les sons
Liste de mots-clés
“Une bonne leçon”
“Louis, le garçon impoli”

We are also continuing to work on our writing skills by writing regularly on different subjects in using thematic vocabulary and in practicing and reviewing grammatical structures.
This month, we will learn and practice new expressions with “j’ai” (I have) and with “je suis” (I am).
Je suis…… J’ai…….
Je suis une fille. J’ai chaud…
Je suis un garçon. J’ai froid.
Je suis malade. J’ai faim.
Je suis en troisième année. J’ai mal aux oreilles.
I also encouraged the children to participate in all the oral activities in order to use new vocabulary and structures and to gain confidence.
Please, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
M.Tanguay
